What Are ?Best Practices? in Hearing Care? - The Hill Hear Better Clinic

What Are Best Practices In Hearing Care?At The Hill Hear Better Clinic, we?ve committed to following best practices in hearing care. We?ve joined other audiologists across the country in the Best Practice Pro Network. This network, powered by audiologist and YouTuber Doctor Cliff, Au.D., is designed to help patients find the best possible care by linking them with audiology clinics who use best practices in their treatment. But why should you care about any of this? What does it really mean to be tested and fit using best practices? We?ll explain!

What Does Best Practices Mean?

You care about your hearing. And when you suffer from hearing loss, you want to find a solution to regain your ability. That means you need a professional who can provide you with the best possible care and treatment options. When you read that an audiologist follows a list of approved best practices, you?ve found one.

When it comes to hearing care, a list of best practices is a set of guidelines that lead to the most effective treatment. These guidelines are industry-approved, meaning experienced doctors and researchers agree on their benefits to patients. Essentially, the approved best practices list we follow is a checklist that ensures we provide you with a thorough evaluation and help you find a treatment option that?s right for you.

What Best Practices Do You Follow?

So what are our best practices? There?s a long list of them!

Giving you the best available hearing care starts at your first consultation. We?ll go over your case history and walk you through a series of tests that help us determine the type and extent of your hearing loss. Every single one of our patients experiences hearing loss a little differently. Our evaluation helps us learn exactly how you experience it and what we can do to help.

At the same time, we?ll ask you what your needs are and what goals you have for your hearing care. We can also answer any questions you might have about hearing loss in general or your condition in particular. Here are some questions to keep in mind during your visit.

When we know the kind of hearing loss you experience, it?s time to find a treatment. We?ll explain the different styles and brands of hearing aids we offer. Each one fits and functions differently. You?re the one who will be living with the device you choose, so we want you to find one that makes you feel good and hear better!

Orientation Makes Your Devices Effective

Once you?ve chosen a hearing aid, we won?t just send you right out the door. Our orientation process is intended to help you feel comfortable with your new hearing aids. To start with, we?ll adjust the device to ensure a perfect fit and test it to ensure there are no manufacturing defects present.

Then we?ll walk you through the features included in your hearing aids. We?ll teach you how to turn them on and off and adjust the volume, of course. But we can also show you how to recharge them, clean them, and use their more advanced features like Bluetooth connectivity. We?ll even install any necessary apps on your smartphone and pair your devices for you!

Before you leave, we?ll explain the warranties included with your hearing aids. We won?t leave you hanging then, either: we?ll set up follow-up appointments to ensure everything is going smoothly with your new devices. You?ll always be able to contact us for help as well.

Best Practices Make a Difference

We want to give each of our patients the best possible service and help them find a treatment plan that gets them back in the game. Because we follow this list of best practices, you can rest assured that you?re getting the best care available.

But you don?t just have to take our word for it! These practices are the same ones followed by top audiologists across the country. We?re proud to count our clinic among those who seek to provide holistic help and treatment to those experiencing hearing loss.
